I’m Stephen, a hair stylist based in Hampshire. Earlier this year, I decided to try REAL RESULTS WEIGHT LOSS LIMITED, and since then, I’ve achieved something I never thought possible: I’ve lost over 20% of my body weight! It’s been an incredible experience, and I’m still on this journey.

My rollercoaster journey with weight

As a teenager, I was always overweight. I come from a big family with lots of cousins, and get-togethers were always centred around food – whether that was BBQs or picnics or big Christmas dinners. It was great, don’t get me wrong, but this definitely contributed to my weight issues.

And then the naughties hit, and we were thrust into an era where body shaming and fad diets were rife. I got sucked into the hype of trying every diet under the sun and quickly lost a lot of weight in an unhealthy way.

Then, once I felt comfortable in my skin, I became less obsessive about exercise and less restrictive dieting, and started to get bigger again. This is how I found myself stuck in a cycle of persistent weight loss and regain. It’s been nearly a decade since I felt happy about my body, and I knew something had to change.

I’d been carrying this weight – literally and emotionally – for way too long. It was really dragging me down. I felt heavy, awkward and nothing ever fit right.

In the gay community, there can be so much focus on appearance and looking a certain way. It’s hard not to feel judged sometimes, especially if you don’t fit the mold, so to speak.

I love travelling, but I’ll never forget being on holiday, squeezing into the aeroplane seatbelt and just feeling so uncomfortable. That was my wake-up call.

Weight loss journey so far

Two weeks in
 

What I loved about us was how quick everything was! Just a couple of days after signing up, the medication was right there on my doorstep – delivered in a discreet little box. I’ll admit I was a bit nervous about the self-injections. Thankfully, that all eased up after chatting with my coach. She really took the time to talk through my goals and what I wanted to get out of this journey.

The first few weeks went pretty smoothly. I had no real side effects, apart from a little cramping when I overdid it with food. I reached out to my clinician and she was amazing – super quick to respond and really reassuring. I felt less bloated, more comfortable in my clothes and just better in my own skin.

One month in
 

One month into my journey, and I couldn’t believe how well things were going. I’d already dropped a clothing size and moved down a notch on my belt (that felt amazing).

Seeing the changes in the mirror and hearing people comment on the difference was such a boost. Being a hairstylist, I’m on my feet all day and moving around was starting to feel so much easier!

Four months in

Six months in

Where I’m at now
